Teaching Method

Baguio City National High School has a lot of students. Each class consist about 45-50 students with different intelligent. According to that cases, Cooperative Learning method really appropriate to be use in teaching method. As my observation, the teacher still use lecturer method but in kind of active discussion. The teacher explain and ask the student some questions. The student will answer the question based on their opinion, and get the score from the teacher for the recitation.

Learning Material and Innovation

To improve the result of teaching, the teacher has to be creative to choose the learning material. Relate to the topic that the teacher teach, learning material should make the students understand the topic quicly. In BCNHS the teacher use the textbook and use cartolina and manila paper. Those papers can help the teacher to highlight the point of the discussion or to write down the student's score. This kind of material is really useful and interesting to use in the clasroom.

Sources of Learning and Technology 

Learning process in BCNHS can walk easly because this school has a good facilitate to support the learners. They have a LCD TV, Projector, and blackboard in every classes. During the learning process, the teacher can use power point presentation, or some videos to attract students. Although they already use technology to teach but they did not forget the important textbook. Because the students here are not allow to use smartphone during the teaching process, that's why the textbook always be the primary source

Authentic Assesment Used by The Teacher

The assesment that the teacher used in BCNHS consist of 3 domains which are Cognitive, Affective, and psycometric. For the Cognitive the teacher take the score from their examination, or from their answer when the teacher ask them a question. For affective the teacher take from their attitude while the teacher conduct the learning process. And for the psycometric the teacher take from the performance task.

School Profile Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) is a public school or public institute of education which located in Gov. Pack Road, Baguio City, Benguet. It was established in 1916 as Baguio Trade School. But, it has changed to be Mountain Province High School (MPHS) after three years. But, now this school have one main campus in Gov. Pack Road and annexes located in Hillside and Fort del Pilar. This school have a High School Program that caters student from grade 7 to 12. Teaching Practice

Procedures of Teaching Before we start the class, we should greet the student to cheer them up or make them ready. Then, we give them a motivation. The motivation can be a video that related to the topic, or the direct question that related to the topic. For example, when I teached about Judiciary Branch I use the picture of the Supreme Court and ask the students question about Judiciary as my motivation to them. After the motivation, I start to explain the topic. Then, I divided the class to 5 groups and give them a problem to solved. After that we will discuss the problem and give the evaluation to each groups. All of the procedure of teaching should follow the Daily Lesson Log. Time Management and Organizing Activities In BCNHS we have one hour to each subject learning, also for the Philippines Constitutions subject.
